Executive Chef Ted Peter’s

He is a class act, but that really says nothing when it comes to his talent, personality and his ability to organize, create and star as the Executive Chef of One Ocean in Atlantic Beach / Jacksonville, Florida. Welcome to the world of Chef Ted Peters. I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Peters and watching him create magnificent works of art in food. From preparation to presentation he and his selected staff of top professionals present food with a taste only found in the best restaurants of New York and Europe.

Recently, Chef Ted Peters was invited to cook at the Prestigious James Beard House in New York. This is considered to be one of the top honors in the culinary world when selected to cook for food and wine enthusiasts seeking the ultimate culinary experience.

James Beard was anointed the “Dean of American Cookery by the New York Times in 1954. He laid the groundwork for the food revolution that has put America at the forefront of global gastronomy. He was the first for television cooking shows. He died at 81 in 1985 and his name remains synonymous with American food. He was the real “foodie”!

Today that tradition continues through Executive Chef Ted Peters. To prove the point, his invite to the James Beard House seals the fact that Chef Peter’s is a gourmet-cuisine veteran of international repute.

With his background and experience of over 17 years in the fine dining industry, he hails from the Caneel Bay Resort in St. John, United States Virgin Islands to the world famed Acqualina, Rosewoods, first U.S. resort, located in Sunny Isles, Florida and another of their properties in Dallas, Texas. Wait; try his experience with the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Boston and Amelia Island and the Savoy Hotel in London and the prestigious Auberge de l’Abbaye in Beaumont En Auge, France.

What? You have not made your reservation yet? One Ocean has the most beautiful, eloquently appointed dining room located right on the ocean. All of this was created and carefully designed with the help of Chef Ted Peters and his menu offers a collection of “imaginative dishes” prepared reflecting the cultural influences of the Atlantic Beach combining European, Caribbean and Latin American flavors. Let’s not overlook the tremendous talents of the Sou Chef, James King. We had the pleasure of having him table side while dining. David Bradford who is the manager of the Restaurant and Lounge is the right person to ask about those special drinks prior to dining. The martinis are to die for!

Congratulations again to Head Chef Ted Peters and his successful cooking at the James Beard House in New York. One Ocean certainly is proud to have this qualified Chef on board and they gurantee you will never forget this experience with Chef Ted and his talented staff. Thank you!

What a wonderful time I had while being at One Ocean! From the room to the spa and that special dinner in that atmospheric dining room certainly was an evening to remember.
